In California, every bicyclist should know that the California Vehicle Code applies to all bicyclists riding on all roadways. There is a California Vehicle Code section that requires that a cyclist ride with and not against traffic. There is also a Code that requires bicyclists to ride as close to the right hand curb as possible. Lastly, there is a California Vehicle Code section that requires a bicyclist not to ride in a cross walk if it is in a business district. These rules and regulations are important in preventing injury to the bicyclist and motorist. Proper training should be employed with bicycle riding and remember to always wear your helmet.
