Fewer San Diego California DUI Accidents this past 4th of July 2009

According to the San Diego California Highway Patrol, fewer arrests were made this past July 4, 2009. A total of 88 people were arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle on San Diego roads and freeways. This comes to 66 less than last year. To this end, there were 0 traffic fatalities on the roads monitored by the CHP during this past holiday weekend; last year, over the 4th of July weekend, there were 3 traffic fatalities.

Throughout the State of California over this past Holiday weekend, there were a total of 16 road fatalities and approximately 1,239 motorists were placed under arrest and jailed on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. I am happy to see there were less accidents, and less road fatalities.
