Complications of a Broken Bone after a San Diego Traffic Accident

The force of impact produced by a San Diego traffic accident can cause massive damage to the human body, and broken bones are a frequent byproduct of car crashes in California. If you or someone you love has been injured in an accident caused by a careless or reckless driver, a dedicated team of San Diego accident lawyers may be able to help you prove the at-fault driver's liability and seek financial damages.

Complicating Factors in a Broken Bone Injury

In many cases, a broken bone can be treated with medication, a cast and rest, but in certain cases, complications can arise that compromise healing, such as:

  • lack of proper blood flow;
  • infection;
  • failure to stabilize the fractured limb or bone properly; and
  • separation of fractured ends of the bone.

The above circumstances can result in a delayed union, or prolonged healing for the bone, or a nonunion, in which a broken bone may fail to heal itself.

If you suffer any complications as the result of a San Diego traffic accident caused by a reckless or negligent driver, contact an office of dedicated San Diego accident lawyers who can answer questions about liability and compensation and will treat you with the compassion you need when you're injured.

I appreciate the article. I am a personal injury chiropractor in St George UT. We have quite a few crashes down here. Most of our crashes are at low speed. I spend a lot of time educating patients that injuries still occur, even at low speeds. It seems counter-intuitive, but injuries happen even when the vehicles show little to know damage. There are lots of research articles which support this.
