The above video shows the combined work of two experts I used in a preventable collision case. I employed the services of a:

a) Collision Reconstructionist

b) Bio-mechanical Reconstructionist

The two experts work in tandem to support each other. In this example, the case I was litigating involved a total of ten vehicles, and was documented by the CHP (California Highway Patrol) who did both photographs of the collision scene, and a brake inspection of the at-fault vehicle, which was a large F-650 Truck carrying a total of 10,000 pounds of car battery inventory. There was an allegation of brake failure made by the at-fault party at the scene, and later withdrawn in deposition testimony.

However, the best way to view the two experts (Collision and Bio-mechanical) is as follows: The out-put data of a Collision Reconstructionist expert is the input date of the Bio-mechanical expert. In any injury case, you must have a mechanism of injury combined with magnitude of injury (tolerance threshhold) to have a causal link to all of the diagnosed injuries with the collision.  In this sense, Mechanism of Injury can be viewed as the occupant motion & injury exposure value and the Magnitude of Injury can be viewed as the occupant's exposure to the forces of the collision and tolerance levels. You need both working together to support one another.

The above video does both - it shows the mechanisme of injury (scene of collision) and then it moves into inside the truck my client was a passenger in when the forces of the collision became apparent. This helped to tell the story of what more than likely occurred giving rise to my client's low back that led to his ultimately receiving a lumbar (one-level) disc fusion surgery.
