Derechos de los MotociclistasCamp Pendleton Marine Corps Base Camp, California is the biggest West Coast military base of the United States Marine Corps, and the base serves the U.S. Marines as its major amphibious military training base. It is located on the Southern California coast line in San Diego County, and it is bordered by the city of Oceanside to the south side of the base, the city of San Clemente to the north side of the base, and the city of Fallbrook to the east side of the base. The military base was formerly established in the year 1942 to train U.S. Marines for service in World War II. However, by October 1944, Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base was declared a "permanent military installation" and by the year 1946, it became the home of the 1st Marine Division. The military decided on the name of the base after Marine General Joseph Henry Pendleton, who always advocated the permanent installation of a West Coast training base for the U.S. Marine Corps. Today, after many years, it is the home to myriad Operating Force units including the I Marine Expeditionary Force, and various other training commands with in the United States Military.
