CALIFORNIA HIT-AND-RUN AUTO OR PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Who can sue (bring a lawsuit) in a hit-and-run San Diego, California car, motorcycle OR pedestrian accident?

A:

This answer depends.  Whether or not you have any legal recourse depends on the circumstances of the accident and how much information you have about the other parties involved.  Every hit and run case is a little bit different than another.  The type of insurance coverage you have may be a determining factor too.  For these types of accidents it is probably best to consult with an attorney to discuss your legal options.

In my law practice, I employ "outside the box" thinking in addition to running investigative background checks on all possible leads when it comes to a California hit-and-run accidents. I interview witnesses to see if any identifying information was taken down on the party that fled. I check with police and their records on any leads they are following up on; I also interview the businesses surrounding the accident site to see if anyone saw anything on the day in question. All avenues must be explored in order for an injured party to get compensation.
