Imelda Dangtayan v. Paul Mitchell Salon, Court Case No. 37-2014-00001633-CU-PO-CTL  Imelda went to the Paul Mitchell Salon in San Diego to get a perm done. Unfortunately, the stylist was negligent in applying the chemicals to her hair. The chemicals ran down into a towel around her neck that was never changes. Slowly she suffered a second degree chemical burn to her neck which left her with a permanent scar. The insurance for the Salon only offered $25,000.00. But for Mark Blane and Imelda, this was not enough to make up for what Imelda went through and what she was left with. Mark filed a lawsuit, and headed toward trial. He associated in fellow trial lawyer Edward Babbitt. Eventually, after some depositions of the Salon employees, and just two months before trial, the case was settled before Judge Nugent in what is called a "Settlement Conference."
