Razor Scooter Rider Injured to Head After Ignoring a Stop Sign

A twelve (12) year-old San Marcos boy was seriously injured Saturday night, July 25, 2009, when he was riding his razor scooter and ignored a stop sign. He was hit by a minivan while the boy was riding the razor scooter behind two other boys Southbound on Pommel Way. The group of boys entered the intersection at Palomarcos Avenue and did not obey the stop sign according to the San Marcos Sheriff’s Department.

The Minivan tried to swerve but could not avoid hitting the boy. The boy suffered serious bodily injury to his left leg and head; he was flown via emergency helicopter transport to Rady Children’s Hospital, and his medical condition is unknown.
