Oceanside California Man Burned by Radiator Coolant

The foreman of a shop sustained severe second-degree burns to approximately 10% of his body today when a hose containing radiator fluid burst while he was in the process of inspecting a vehicle at the Pep Boys on Mission Avenue, not too far from North Canyon Drive, in the city of Oceanside. This was reported by Oceanside Fire Battalion Chief Rob Dunham.

The accident occurred when a customer brought their vehicle in around 11 am due to an overheating of the engine. The burn victim was a man in his 30’s and was burned from his waist area down to both of his knees. The accident was so serious as to call a helicopter to fly the burn victim to the UCSD Medical Center where he has been reported to be in stable condition. You have to be extremely careful around overheated engines.
