Avandia Class Action Lawsuit

The pharmaceutical drug Avandia, also known as Rosiglitazone, is a drug that is taken for the treatment of diabetes. Recent medical studies have shown its use increases the risk of a heart attack (myocardial infarction) by approximately 30% – 40%. It has also been shown to increase other health risks such as: Congestive Heart Failure; Stroke; Death; Bone Fractures; Liver problems or complete failure; and Macular Edema.

Due to these published medical results, the FDA, in May 2007, issued a drug safety alert on Avandia. In that alert, it referenced the health risk for heart attacks. Females taking Avandia have suffered from bone fractures that include fractures in the foot; hand; and the upper arm regions. These types of fractures were not consistent with postmenopausal osteoporosis fractures that can occur in females of certain age groups; particularly in the hip or spine. Anyone who has experience with the above symptoms or occurrences with Avandia may have a case, and should contact an experienced Avandia Class Action attorney to go over their legal rights.
