San Diego Mission Bay Watercraft Accident

On Sunday, July 26, 2009, an 11 year old daughter, and a 33 year-old father were seriously injured when two personal watercraft collided in San Diego Mission Bay according to local San Diego authorities.

The father and daughter were riding the same watercraft when it was struck by the other watercraft at approximately 10:45 am in the Fiesta Bay area of Mission Bay near “Ski Beach;” apparently, the operator of the other watercraft was not injured from the accident.  The victims sustained injuries that necessitated transport to local San Diego hospitals.  This watercraft accident was among eight boat rescues, 202 medical aid calls, and approximately 196 water rescues the San Diego lifeguards carried out when approximately 290,000 people went to San Diego city beaches due to the hot temperatures.  Everyone needs to stay safe out there especially on the Bay when it is super crowded.
